Following my muse

Creativity is a funny thing, isn't it? It is a driving force with a life of its own. At least mine is. I have learned to trust her, to follow her and see where she wants to go. She has taken me on some grand adventures, and I'm just along for the ride.

After weeks of being consumed with painting landscapes, we are now a little obsessed with fruits and veggies. Every trip to the grocery store is a treasure hunt. So far I have painted apples, artichokes, pears, and onions, and have a couple of other surprises waiting for their turn.

Maybe this will lead to some fun still life paintings. Maybe I will just end up with some paintings in my sketchbook that I'll look back on and smile. Time will tell. All that matters right now is that I'm having fun!
